Dame Kelly Holmes is most famous for her double Olympic Gold win in Athens in 2004 where she scooped the gold in both the 800m and the 1500m event.

In 2006 Dame Kelly was appointment as the first National School Sport Champion a role which is backed by the Government as part of the PE & Sport Strategy for Young People and in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust and Norwich Union.

Dame Kelly attends a variety of sporting events, schools and conferences across the country in a bid to inspire and motivate young people to get involved in PE and school sport.

She has driven the Girls Active programme, in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust and Norwich Union, which empowers teenage girls to actively engage in sports activities they choose. The programme helps address the decline in sporting participation amongst girls.

During some National ‘Girls Active’ activity days taking part across the UK Dame Kelly Holmes took part in our rebound classes alongside many children including sporty kids, disengaged populations and special needs children.

The nice thing was that even though there were many different levels of fitness and ability all these populations could rebound in the same class making the workout very inclusive, and ensuing each individual feels successful! The key to this is that each individual can control how hard they work by how much they push in to the mat surface which controls the intensity and level that you work.
